PRAYER FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
O Christ, our Teacher, You invite Your faithful people to make disciples in Your name and to announce good news to the poor. We thank You for the gift of Catholic schools, where the message of Your life, death, and resurrection is proclaimed, Christian community is experienced, service to our brothers and sisters is modelled, and worship of You is cultivated. Increase our zeal for ensuring that all children and families can benefit from a high-quality Catholic education, and that Catholic schools grow in their ability to nurture the soul of our nation. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen

Looking at the Archdiocese of Sydneys' Parish Renewal Program
A Vision for Parish Life
For most Catholics, the parish is the primary context in which the Gospel is proclaimed, the sacraments are celebrated and the ministry of charity is exercised.
Go Make Disciples represents an opportunity to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Archdiocese of Sydney in fresh, creative and faith-filled ways. It is a call to transform the culture of our communities by faithfulness to Jesus’ command to “go, make disciples” so that our parishes become outposts of the Great Commission, making disciples who bear fruit for God (Romans 7:4).
A Parish of Disciples
A disciple is one who has encountered Jesus personally in the midst of the Church, who has surrendered his or her life to His way, and has made the decision to live by His teaching in all aspects of life. A disciple is intentional and active, committed to the lifelong process of learning from Jesus and, inflamed by this encounter, to sharing His way, truth and life with others for the sake of the world.
It is this vision of fruitful discipleship that Go Make Disciples has been designed to support. We honour and celebrate the rich faith and good works that are already present and active in our parishes, and at the same time hear the Gospel’s call to ongoing conversion and constant spiritual renewal. It is this renewal of culture for discipleship and mission to which all parishes and communities of the Archdiocese are invited.

I wouldn’t want to be fussy about that [Communion in the hand]. It was done in the early Church. A reverent manner of receiving Communion in the hand is in itself a perfectly reasonable way to receive Communion. - Pope Benedict XVI God and the World, p,410
"Those who reject the teaching of the Second Vatican Council are placing themselves outside the Church”. “Either you are with the Church and therefore you follow the council, or you interpret it in your own away – according to your desire – [and] you do not stand with the Church,” the Pope said.

INSIDE THE VATICAN - A Podcast with COLLEEN DULEE of AMERICA MAGAZINE - young, insightful, on target, intelligent, "happy", educative, easy on the ear and truly informative.....eg: Podcast on the Tridentine Mass (which is 400 yrs old within the 2,000 yrs story of Liturgy) is very worthwhile especially for young adult Catholics committed to the Faith of the Church.

Let Us Pray
Prayer for Peace
Almighty God and Creator, You are the Father of all people on earth. I beseech You to guide all the nations and their leaders in the ways of justice and peace. Protect us from the evils of injustice, prejudice, exploitation, conflict and war. Help us to put away mistrust, bitterness and hatred. Teach us to cease the storing and using of implements of war. Lead us to find peace, respect and freedom. Unite us in the making and sharing of tools of peace against ignorance, poverty, disease and oppression. Grant that we may grow in harmony and friendship as brothers and sisters created in Your image, to Your honour and praise. Amen
